JioSaavn Family plan pricing changes the economics of the app for anyone who does not live alone. One subscription covers up to five accounts, each with its own recommendations, playlists and downloads — and each getting the full Pro feature set rather than a cut-down "family member" tier. At ₹599 a year, that works out to roughly ₹10 per person per month.
Below is exactly what the plan includes, how it stacks up against the other tiers, and the cases where it is the wrong choice.
What the Family plan includes
- Five separate accounts — individual logins, not profiles on a shared one.
- Ad-free listening across app, web and desktop.
- 320 kbps audio and unlimited offline downloads on every account.
- Unlimited JioTunes on linked Jio numbers.
- Unlimited skips and endless autoplay.
The important detail is that recommendations stay separate. Music apps that share one account end up with a home screen nobody recognises; separate logins avoid that entirely.
The full price ladder
| Plan | Price | Accounts |
|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | 1, with ads |
| Pro Monthly | ₹99 / month | 1 |
| Pro Annual | ₹399 / year | 1 |
| Pro Student | Discounted | 1, verification required |
| Pro Duo | ₹129 / month | 2 |
| Pro Family | ₹599 / year | Up to 5 |
Prices are indicative and change with promotions; the in-app Pro tab is always authoritative. Note the shape of the ladder: annual billing is dramatically cheaper per month than monthly billing, and the Family plan is only slightly more than a single annual subscription.
Family versus individual: the break-even
One annual individual plan is ₹399. The Family plan is ₹599 — ₹200 more for four additional listeners. If two people in your household currently pay for their own subscriptions, Family saves money immediately. If you live alone, it does not, and Pro Annual is the better buy.
Many Jio prepaid and postpaid plans already include JioSaavn Pro. If everyone in the household is on Jio, you may be paying for something you already have.
How to add family members
- Subscribe to Pro Family from the in-app Pro tab.
- Open Account → Manage plan → Invite members.
- Send an invite link to each person. They must accept while signed in with their own JioSaavn account.
- Assign or remove members at any time; slots free up as soon as an invite is revoked.
Invites expire if unaccepted, which is the usual reason a slot looks occupied but nobody is using it. Remove the pending invite and resend.
When the Family plan is the wrong choice
Two situations argue against it. First, if household members listen to different apps — a Spotify subscriber will not switch for a shared plan. Second, if the family is spread across countries: content availability differs by territory, so a plan shared across borders delivers an inconsistent catalogue.
For households that mostly listen to Indian music in Indian languages, though, it is the strongest value in Indian streaming. Pair it with the 16-language guide to set each account's language, and the offline download guide to keep data bills down.
